So I came home today and it being beautiful and all, I decided to set up my wireless network so’s I could sit out on the grass and enjoy the 84 degree weather. It’s working like a charm and I’m actually sitting on the grass right now posting. w00t!

Taxes

I reworked my taxes, and yes, I do still owe the government money. Blech.

Workaholism

Yea, I just got home. Took me eight hours of straight debugging to add four extra letters to make something work. Rock ON!

Mods Galore

Uh oh - I found something else I want for my car. This could turn out to be a very expensive summer. ;-)

All Your Base

An awesome “All Your Base” flash that I found here via the same guy that has enough time on his hand to host 220 million digits of pi. For those of you not in the know, go here for the history. Or just Google it.

AS&T is Still Stupid

The Internet is slow tonight. It was non-existent last night. I hate AS&T. I can’t wait to cancel the service. :)

Consultants and Management

As a consultant, one of the things i frequently have to do is translate geek speak into understandable terms for upper management. While “dropping your IIS box into a DMZ” means nothing to a lot of people, “segregating your Internet accessible web site from the rest of your network” is mildly better. Pervasive Computing has it right when they say: …keep it simple. If you can’t explain it simply, you don’t understand it. Or you’ve just gotten lazy and rely on the jargon. My Pop was also a big fan of the KISS method - Keep It Simple, Stupid!

Pi

Don’t click this link unless you feel like punishing your system. Similar to the Pi (3.14159…) that is represented on the page, it is nearly infinite. OK, so 220 million digits is not infinite, but loading a 283MB file in your Internet browser sure makes it seem like it.

San Fran vs. Baghdad

A great photo story here from some dude I’ve never heard of but paints a good picture about the war in Iraq. Pics to make your heart feel all warm and fuzzy and that what we did in Iraq as a good thing and not a horrible oil-scavenging excursion.

Why Iraqi's Beat Images of saddam with Shoes

I just heard on the TV why we’ve been seeing images of Iraqi’s hitting pictures/statues/etc. of saddam with their shoes. Apparently, it is improper etiquette to show the soles of your shoes. Therefore, taking your shoes off and hitting those items with the soles is one of the most effective ways they can show their complete disdain for saddam. Very interesting.
