well that was pretty cool

Well that was pretty cool. Got up around 4:30 this morning and headed over to a field in hopes that I could volunteer to launch balloons! Unfortunately, I was a little late as they do a training class about a week before. So all I got to do was sit there and watch them take off - not too bad, though. Got a whole bunch ‘o pics that I’ll post one of these days.

Hrrm - Seems like my “cable” company is reselling satellite. I was watching tv today and there were some storms passing by. My reception started pixeling out as sat tv seems to do, then the message appeared at the bottom of the tv “Searching for satellite signal..”. interesting

well that was pretty cooli

Well that was pretty cool. I found out today that there were some fireworks within walking distance (~2 miles) of me. So I decided to head down there this eve. On my way down, they had six bombers flying over in formation a bunch of times. I then mingled around until I found what I guessed would be a pretty good spot - I didn’t let myself down. I was probably only a couple hundred feet from where they were lighting off the fireworks. I even had fiery ashes raining down around me - it was pretty cool, but a lot of people did not appreciate the fire rain. :) To bed for now as I have a special quest for tomorrow morning!

For those of you who are security conscious, OpenBSD has made a slight, but significant change to their site. chuckle Oh, by the way…the Interweb is falling.

from jokeadaythe recent 9th circuit

From JokeADay: The recent 9th Circuit Court ruled that the Pledge of Allegiance is unconstitutional because it contains the words, “Under God." “Since all US money contains contain the phrase “In God We Trust”, I would like to invite all atheists and others offended by the phrase to send their offensive documents to me. Maybe we can use your web site to spread the word and you can help me recycle the stuff.”

That's gotta burn

Proof of concept code was released yesterday to exploit OpenSSH on OpenBSD (SecurityFocus.com). I have successfully verified this against default installs of OpenBSD 3.0 and 3.1.
